My dear friends,

May I share my heart with you about what I think is happening in Israel?  I'm no "expert" but I have lived in Jerusalem 15 months, walked its streets, rode its buses, met its people, ate in two of its restaurants that have been recently bombed.  I have gone on its Temple Mount (where King Solomon's Temple once stood) where Christians and Jews are now forbidden to pray or take their Bibles.  That is because it is under the control of Muslims.  I could give you many other examples of what I experienced firsthand.

The Bible tells of the establishment of the State of Israel over 3000 years ago by Jehovah G-d.  As a Christian, I am very appreci-ative of the Jewish people, and their culture, for keeping alive an awareness of Jehovah, the great I AM.  They have protected and maintained the Bible, our Holy Scriptures -- and our L-rd and Savior came through them.  My identification is with Jewish Messiah, Jesus.  Through Him, we have been grafted into Israel.  (John 4:22; Romans 11:17-18).  I am very grieved about what is happen-ing at the birthplace of our salvation, our future hope.  More than a battle between PM Sharon and Arafat, Jews and Arabs is taking place.  It is a battle with the anti-Christ spirit of the false god, Allah, lived out through Islamic fundamentalist.  It is a battle between good and evil, between light and darkness.  I'm very serious.  If the legitimate State of Israel is not preserved, Heaven help us all.  I urge you, please, PRAY for an end to the suicide bombings.  Please encourage our president and government officials to support Israel in their fight against those who are out to destroy them as a people and nation.  There are over 22 Muslim Arab nations.  There is only 1 Jewish nation.  I close with this quote from Martin Niemoller (1892-1984), a German Protestant pastor:

"They came for the Communists, and I didn't object -- For I wasn't a Communist;
They came for the Socialists, and I didn't object -- For I wasn't a Socialist;
They came for the labor leaders, and I didn't object -- For I wasn't a labor leader;
They came for the Jews, and I didn't object -- For I wasn't a Jew;
Then they came for me --  And there was no one left to object."

Thank you.
