A MESSAGE FROM SENIOR PASTOR JOHN STOCKER

A lot of G-D's people are looking at the situation in the Middle East and don't know what to make of it.  I have had so many people approach me and ask my opinion as to what is going to happen in Israel.  It looks like an impossible situation.  It doesn't appear there is any solution.  The situation we have today is dramatically different than nine years ago.  It is important that you understand the political dynamics of what is happening right now in the nation state of Israel.

Nine years ago there was a chance that someone could have come along and given the Palestinians some true leadership - someone who honestly wanted peace.  However, the leaders of our world including the UN, USA, and other countries made a drastic mis-take.  They chose a man who was a known terrorist and murderer.  Even though he was about to fade into obscurity, he was lifted up and placed as the head of the Palestinians.  Hundreds of millions of dollars were funneled through his hands. One of the first things he did was to begin a program of brain washing the Palestinian young people.  He removed the text books from the schools and printed new ones which sought to change history.  He sought to convince the Palestinian people that until modern times there never had been a Jewish presence in Palestine.

The second thing Yasser Arafat did was to teach an entire generation that it was their God-given, moral responsibility to hate and kill Jews.  He even carried this so far as to train and teach them that they needed to sacrifice their lives as suicide bombers.  So, what we have today in the Middle East is a situation that is not going to go away.  Yassar Arafat will soon run his course.  He will soon fade away and become but a memory of the past due to Parkinson's disease.  But the legacy he will leave is a legacy that
Israel is going to have to deal with for decades to come.  He has built a generation of young people who hate Jews and are sworn
to the annihilation of the Jewish people.

So, we see dark clouds on the future.  When you read your Bible, you find this is exactly what the Bible predicts not only for the area that we call Israel (some call Palestine) but also the entire Middle East.
One of the things that greatly concerns me is what
kind of attitude the church will have toward the nation state of Israel and the Jewish people as they defend themselves from Palestinian terrorists and Arab armies in future wars.

There are three types of people in the church today.  There are those who have an intense hatred or dislike for the Jewish people.  In other words, they are anti-Semitic.  If you have those feelings, I would try to point out that those feelings are totally irrational and illogical.  There is probably no reason for that hatred for Jews.  In other words, you probably have never been personally wronged by a Jew, yet for some strange, illogical reason you have an intense dislike or hatred toward Jews.  What rationale caused Adolf Hitler and the Nazis to slaughter six million Jews?  There is no rational way to understand that.  It can't be done, because there is no rationale for the slaughtering of six million men, women, children, and babies.  Although anti-Semitism is irrational, the reason it continues is because it is demonic.  Satan hates the Jewish people.  He knows if he can destroy the Jewish people, he can prove that G-D is a liar.  That is the foundation stone of all anti-Semitism.

The second type of persons are those who fall into the category of basic indifference.  They don't hate Jews but they have no
bond in their heart for Jews.  They do not have an intense love for Israel.  Sometimes people that are in this category will look
with bewilderment at people like myself.  They do not understand my support of the Jewish people and the nation of Israel. For indeed, the third category of people are those who, like myself, are absolutely rabid pro-Israel.  I am not afraid or ashamed to be vocal about my support and love for Israel.  Many people want to know how I got this love for Israel.

Some people say it must be because I've been to Israel so many times, and one can't go there without getting a heart for the
Jewish people.  I'll say "Amen" to that, but I had a heart for the Jewish people before I ever took my first trip there.  In fact, it
was because I had such a heart for the Jewish people that I wanted to take that first trip.

As I began to seek the L-RD about this, G-D spoke something to my heart that was so simple that anyone could comprehend what it was all about.   It was simply this,
"What is in your heart is what is in My heart.  My Spirit dwells within you and, there-fore, what is in My heart has been reproduced in your heart."  Many of G-D's people are so uninformed about what's in G-D's heart.  They don't understand what the Bible has to say about Israel.

Some in the Church think the Church has replaced the Jews and now the Church is the "chosen one."  That's amazing!  You
cannot read your Bible, understanding what it says, and hold to that position.  The Scriptures are very clear.  As we go through some Scriptures in Isaiah, I encourage you to allow G-D to communicate to you His heart for His people, the Jews.  First, let's
look at Zechariah 2:8,"... for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of His eye."  Think about this.  You walk up to a tree; and there's one apple -- the most perfect one -- and it catches your eye and you say, "That's the one I want to pick for myself."
G-D says to Israel, "Whoever touches you, touches the apple of My eye."

Isaiah 40:1-2, "Comfort ye, comfort ye My people, saith your G-D."  It is our job to comfort G-D's people.  When we go to Israel, we hear over and over, "You can't imagine what a comfort it is to have you here and know that you are standing with us."  Going on, verse 2, "Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned:  for she hath received of the L-RD's hand double for all her sins."  Do you realize that right here we have tapped into the very root of anti-Semitism.  There is no question that Israel has been judged by G-D.  The diaspora, the exile, and the Holocaust were mani-festations of G-D's judgment.  But what so many people fail to understand is that G-D does not keep holding our sin before us eternally.  He is a G-D of great mercy and compassion.  G-D says here, "Tell My people (Jerusalem) that it's over.  Their judgment is over.  I am not going to hold their iniquity against them.  It is pardoned.  They have already been punished."

Isaiah 41:8-13, "But thou, Israel, art My servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend. 9) Thou whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called thee from the chief men thereof, and said unto thee, Thou art My servant;  I have chosen thee, and not cast thee away.  This Scripture tears apart the position that says the Church has replaced Israel.  He goes on in verse 10) "Fear thou not; for I am with thee:  be not dismayed; for I am thy G-D:  I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of My righteousness."

Now G-D goes on to deal with Israel's future.in verse  11) "Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded:  they shall be as nothing; and they that strive with thee shall perish.  12) Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find them, even them that contended with thee :  they that war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought.  13) For I the L-RD thy G-D will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee."

G-D's plan for Israel is not what we see happening right now.  G-D's plan is for Israel to be a glory to G-D in all the earth.  In fact, they are going to be the means by which G-D is glorified throughout the entire earth.  The most beautiful portion of Scripture which reveals G-D's heart for Israel is Isaiah 45:15, "Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb?  yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee."  A woman loves her child more than anything in the world.  She would give her life for that child without hesitation.  How strong do you feel toward your child, the one that nursed
at your breasts?  G-D says that's how He feels about Israel.

But some say, "What about the Holocaust?  How could that happen if G-D is so faithful to His people and loves them so much?"
G-D answers that question in Isaiah 54:7-10:  7) "For a small moment have I forsaken thee; but with great mercies will I gather thee.  8) In a little wrath I hid my face from thee for a moment; but with everlasting kindness will I have mercy on thee, saith the
L-RD Thy Redeemer.  9) For this is as the waters of Noah unto Me:  for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah should no more
go over the earth; so have I sworn that I would not be wroth with thee, nor rebuke thee.  10) For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but My kindness shall not depart from thee; neither shall the covenant of My peace be removed, saith the
L-RD that hath mercy on thee."

Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the L-RD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you
an expected end."  And last, but not least, Pslam 122:6, "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:  they shall prosper that love thee."
Can you feel the heart of G-D?  G-D showed me this is why I love them in the way I do.  He has put His heart in me.

This is the hour in which G-D will show His favor to the Jewish people.  No, they're not perfect -- neither are we.  Nobody's perfect.  Aren't you glad He favors us anyway because the shed blood of Jesus is upon our lives?  Likewise, He favors Israel.  Some say, "But they haven't accepted the shed blood of Jesus."  They have a covenant with G-D!  We can expect G-D to be
faithful because we have a covenant with Him.  In the Old Testament, every time G-D talks about His faithfulness, He links it to
His covenant.

I want to leave you with two thoughts. If you are anti-Semitic or if you are indifferent, that is not the heart of G-D, and I
encourage you to begin praying and asking G-D to give you His heart.  And the second thing is to always remember, when you stand with a Jew, you are standing with G-D.  [Amen].
