| 28 WAYS YOU CAN BLESS ISRAEL |
| 1. BUY ISRAELI PRODUCTS AND SERVICES - Go out of your way to support Israel's export trade. Websites www.shopinisrael.com, www.usaisrael.org, and www.israelwishes.com allow you to buy Israeli products directly. www.shorashim.net is an online tourist gift shop. When in the grocery store, look for brands like Elite, Telma, Osem, and Ahava beauty products. www.israelexport.org list the names of products sold in the USA. 2. SPEAK OUT - Write a pro-Israel piece for a local newspaper, set up information tables at your high school or college, or simply talk to people. 3. GET THE FACTS - For daily news, visit The Jerusalem Post and IMRA web sites. For background information, read Israel: A History by Martin Gilbert, From Time Immemorial by Joan Peters, and Myths and Facts by Mitchell G. Bard -- online at www.us-israel.org/jsource/myths/mftoc.html 4. PRAY - Pray to G-D to bring peace to the land. Pray for Israel's leaders who need wisdom. Pray for the safety of Israeli civilians. Pray for the protection of IDF soldiers. Ask G-D to heal Israel's wounded soldiers and civilians. And pray for the Arabs to realize the true nature of their leadership and doctrines. 5. PROTEST BIAS IN THE MEDIA - When you discover bias, respectfully complain to the news agency. You can join a media watch email list at www.HonestReporting.com which gives guidelines for how to be effective in contacting the media, and has over 25,000 subscribers protesting biased news against Israel. 6. GIVE TZEDAKAH - Give some donations for Israel to a worthy organization. 7. EMPATHIZE WITH TERROR VICTIMS - A full listing of terror victims -- and suggestions to help -- is online at: www.walk4israel.com and www.projectonesoul.com. 8. VISIT ISRAEL - Go to Israel on vacation, to study, or simply to walk where Jesus walked. Encourage your local organizations to sponsor trips -- study tours, religious tours, etc. Spend as much money as you can afford in order to help the economy. Hotels, stores and restaurants are lacking tourists -- precisely what the terrorists seek! Talk to others about the beautiful landscape of Israel, about the unique feeling of thousands of years of Jewish existence in Israel. Visiting Israel will show Israelis that you care and will enhance your own sense of connection. 9. SUPPORT MAGEN DAVID ADOM - Israel's medical emergency service is severely financially strapped. Get your church or school to start a campaign or contribute online at www.magendavidadom.org. 10. CONSERVE ENERGY - American foreign policy is heavily influenced by the need for imported oil. Reducing the fuel consumption diminishes Arab clout. 11. RECOGNIZE THE G-D FACTOR - The very existence of the Jewish People after 3,500 years -- and the return to their land after a long exile -- is miraculous. Understand the significance of Abraham's covenant with G-D. 12. RALLY FOR ISRAEL - Hold a rally in your city. Hundreds or thousands of people turning out to display support sends a strong message to politicians and the news media. 13. KNOW YOUR ENEMY - The Arab world tends to say one thing in English, but a very different message in Arabic. Become aware of the differences. 14. HOLOCAUST EDUCATION - Learning about the Holocaust helps us appreciate the depth of anti-Semitism and its root cause. See www.anti-semitism.com 15. CONTACT AND VISIT YOUR CONGRESSMAN AND SENATORS - Form a concerned citizen's group, and make an appointment to visit with your elected representatives. Then go! They need to learn how serious their constituents are about the survival of Israel. Ask that Israel, rather than being required to back down, be allowed to fight terror just as America does. 16. POST ON THE WEB - Pro-Palestinian activists have flooded chat rooms and online bulletin boards. Speak up for the legitimacy of Israel's right to her G-D-given land. 17. LEARN HEBREW - Order the book Zola's Introduction to Hebrew. Call your local synagogue and inquire about joining Hebrew classes. This will build your bond with the Jewish People and the Land of Israel. 18. GET THE ISRAELI SIDE - After an incident in Israel, visit the websites of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) to get the truth. 19. READ THE BIBLE - And teach it to your children. 20. CONTACT THE PRESIDENT - Write a short, personal email with a subject line like "Support Israel's Battle Against Terrorism." Urge him to make policy decisions based on what is morally correct, not economically or politically expedient. Every call, letter and fax is counted. Send emails to: president@whitehouse.gov, or call the White House comment line at 202-456-1111 or 1414. 21. DISTRIBUTE LITERATURE ON COLLEGE CAMPUSES - Print and distribute literature on campuses highlighting Israel's humanitarian achievements, democracy and ethnic diversity. One group working on this front is: www.israelactivism.com 22. RECITE PSALMS - King David wrote stirring words that seem to be written for our exact situation today! Say a few Psalms daily (Psalms 20, 83, 121, 130, and 142). 23. REGISTER AND VOTE - If you are not already registered to vote, then contact your local Board of Elections and ask for a voter registration application, and be sure to vote in upcoming elections. 24. BUY ISRAEL BONDS - You can buy an Israel Bond for as little as $136 at www.israelbonds.com or 800-229-9650. 25. SHARE BOTH SIDES OF THE REFUGEE ISSUE - In conversations and in the media, emphasize how the Arab states have mistreated the Palestinians -- refusing to grant them citizenship in order to keep the "refugee" issue an open wound. 26. HOLD GOVERNMENTS ACCOUNTABLE - Write, call and email the tourism consular and airline offices of countries that are complicit in anti-Semitic and anti-Israel activities. Boycott products from such countries. 27. HOLD PRAYER RALLIES - Communal prayer is more powerful than that of an individual, so invite people to join together to "Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem" [Psalm 122:6]. 28. SUPPORT ISRAELI CRAFTSMEN - With tourism virtually non-existent, many Israelis who depend on it for their livelihood are suffering. If you're going to buy a gift, try to buy a work (piece of art, clothing, jewelry, etc.) by an Israeli artist. Excerpted from an article at www.israelinsider.com. |
