DR. IRVING MOSKOWITZ TO LEAD SOLIDARITY MISSION TO GAZA -- High-Profile Doctor to Lead Group of Jewish American Leaders - April 4, 2005, New York NY - Dr. Irving Moskowitz announced today he would lead a mission to Israel from April 7th to 10th. The group will be showing solidarity with the Jewish residents of Gush Katif to observe Shabbat with them. Dr. Moskowitz said, "As Americans and Jews we are concerned about the planned forcible removal of thousands of law abiding citizens from their homes in Gush Katif. Over a period of thirty years the Jewish people living in communities in Gush Katif have established families, schools, businesses, synagogues and cemeteries where their loved ones are buried. Now they are under the threat of eviction because they are Jews. All people of good conscience who believe in democratiac values should join us to show support and love to the residents of these threatened communities." Participants will include Rabbi Dr. Moshe Tendler of Yeshiva University, Rabbi Pesach Lerner of The National Council of Young Israel, Morton Klein of ZOA, Bunny Hororwitz of American For a Safe Israel and numerous Rabbis and Lay Leaders from across the United States. Dr. Joseph Frager, Chairman of the Annual Israel Day Concert said "we feel the need to stand up and let the world know that we will not sit silent when the Jews are in danger. We are visiting Gaza to show solidarity, and stand strong." "I'm going to tell people in Gush Katif who at the moment feel alone that American individuals and organizations who are their brothers and sisters are here to say we love you," said Rabbi Lerner. Our motto is "engagement rather than disengagement" |
