| The above exhortation given by Mordecai to Esther, reminds us all of the perilous position the Jewish people have often found themselves in, wherever they have lived. For the past 54 years, the nation of Israel has been surrounded by hostile enemy forces whose main thrust has been her total and complete annihilation. Various leaders of Palestinian terrorist organizations, including the PLO, have made it crystal clear that this has been their ultimate goal for Israel. As we take the above scripture into account, may we see that it holds a clear and strong message to Christians everywhere who stand in support and solidarity with the nation and people of Israel. May we "never" become so high-minded as to think that what befalls the Jewish people will not befall the Christians as well. As was said by the perpetrators of the European Jewish holocaust, "first the Saturday people and then the Sunday people". We must remember that Christians who supported the Jewish people did not escape Hitler's gas ovens! This very hour, Israel is facing her greatest challenge to her survival. Western Christianity, and Western Government do not fully realize what the real conflict in the Middle East is all about. It is not an Arab/Israeli conflict but rather a conflict between Islam and Judeo/Christian civilization. Under Islamic rule, there will "never" be a Jewish state in the midst of an Islamic dominated Middle East. If we as Christians "hold our peace at this time", be assured that "deliverance for the Jews will come from another place." As "true" friends of Israel, let us give ourselves over more fully to blessing Israel through our love, support, and prayers --- Because of Israel's Messiah, International Wall of Prayer |
